About Spirited Travelers
We’ve always been wandering spirits, so when we were presented with a job opportunity that would allow us to live and work in Europe, we quickly said “yes.” We sold our house, sold our cars, divided all our remaining possessions into four groups for shipping and storage, got the necessary travel paperwork for our dog and away we went.
When we told friends and family that we were moving, the conversation typically went like this:
“Aw, we’ll miss you but that’s cool! Where?”
We had the same reaction when the opportunity first arose. Poland? Sure, we know the bare basics about Poland but it had never occured to us that we could actually live there. And that’s the attraction; think of all the adventures to be had while exploring Poland (and Europe).
Wandering with Intent
By defintion, “wandering” is to “travel aimlessly from place to place,” but we’re really not so good at the “aimless” bit, so we “wander with intent”: we go in the general direction of something interesting and open ourselves up to the possibility of being sidetracked by something else interesting. We have many interests ~ food, wine, history, architecture, whiskey, to name a few ~ so we become sidetracked quite easily.
Our goal with this blog
Our goal is to share bite-sized stories and photos from our trips that will momentarily fulfill the reader’s desire to get away and travel.
It’s also a diary for us. It’s a way for us to record and remember our our adventures, big and small.
I’m Scott: dog lover, travel enthusiast, foodie, whiskey fan, art director, and photographer. I am fortunate to share these adventures with my better half and our delightful miniature schnauzer.
Drop me a note from the Contact page and I’ll do my best to respond as promptly as our travel schedule allows.
