This fun face, made entirely of flowers, illustrates the theme of Flower Power.
Spring. My favorite time of year. This spring (2019), we were fortunate to visit Keukenhof Gardens, one of the world’s largest flower gardens, at peak blossom time.
According to Wikipedia, approximately 7 million bulbs are planted in the 79-acre park and, in 2017, 1.4 million people visited the park. On our visit, I would guess that both numbers were surpassed.
Here’s a small selection of photos from our visit. Happy Spring!

A river of blue.

Modern art sculptures, such as this white teardrop, are found throughout the grounds.

In addition to the 7 million flowers, Keukenhof also has flowering trees and well-manicured grass.

This dilapidated old VW found a new life as a large flower pot.

There’s a small windmill, with a viewing platform, at the edge of Keukenhof.

When one thinks of blooming tulips in Holland, long rows like these are what comes to mind. This field is right outside Keukenhof Gardens.

I always knew the tulips were fabulous in the Netherlands, but this looks amazing. Really enjoying your blog Scott. BTW, I checked out the rubber ducks….seriously? 17 Euro for one. Even the Namaste was 9 Euro…..spending that much for a bow to my divine self seems a little extravagant! I’m so jealous of your adventures. Keep having great ones and witing about them!

Keukenhof is fabulous. I think we were very lucky and were there at peak bloom. And yes, the rubber ducks are silly and a bit pricy but also fun 🙂 I bought the Gene Simmons of KISS ducky. We’ve been sooooooo jealous of your fabulous Italy adventures! Where are you off to next?

Mostly North America though I’m looking forward to Death Valley tour during IPW in Anaheim.
